Question

Ref Cursors

Rating9.0Excellent

I have bunch of stored procedures and packages which were written to return array of parameters i.e. that return parameters of type TABLE . I need to migrate them to return refcursors. The previous approach allowed me to include a lot of business logic within the plsql loops, however all the examples that I have seen for refcursors return results of just one simple or complicated statement. Ideally if I could convert just the previous parameters to refcursor without rewriting the entire logic. Could some one please provides samples/pointers to do so.

e.g.
TYPE t_id is TABLE of  NUMBER(5)
       INDEX BY BINARY_INTEGER;

      TYPE t_Course is TABLE of VARCHAR2(10)
       INDEX BY BINARY_INTEGER;

      TYPE t_Dept is TABLE of VARCHAR2(5)
       INDEX BY BINARY_INTEGER;

      TYPE t_pk1Type1 IS TABLE OF VARCHAR2(100)
       INDEX BY BINARY_INTEGER;
